The Mission of the Leominster Fire-Rescue Department
We
are to safeguard its citizens by providing high quality emergency
fire, rescue, and emergency medical services. We shall make every
effort to maintain a fire fighting force capable of handling
structural fires, hazardous materials incidents, incidents of
terrorism, medical, or rescue incidents as well as any other
catastrophic event which may occur. These efforts are combined
with a proficient and proactive fire prevention program to include
public education,
code enforcement, and systems engineering.
Improving Our Insurance Service Organization Class Rating
 The Fire Department shall maintain or improve its Insurance
Service Organization (ISO) Class 3 rating. In doing so, we can
achieve improved and efficient training, required water supply,
infrastructure, rapid response, public education, adequate
equipment and necessary staffing to meet national standards and
guidelines. Though these efforts the department can minimize
injury, loss of life, and reduce property damage thereby assisting
in maintaining the community's tax base.
