Our Tree Planting Program
will allow homeowners to participate in a 50-50 manner with
the city. The cost to the homeowner is $80.00 We are offering
Bradford Pear, Sugar Maple, Snow Crabapple, and October Glory These trees have proven to do well
in the soil types found in our city. Homeowners can pick the
type of tree and we will plant it on their property away
from any type of overhead lines and sidewalk.
The city requires that the trees not be planted under
overhead wires of any type and not within 4-8 feet,
depending on variety of tree, of the sidewalk. The tree
needs to be visible from the street and will not be placed
in back yards away from public view.
Thank you to Georgia-Pacific Corp./Dixie Cutlery for their
generous donation of $2500 towards this program.
If you would like to sign up to receive a tree through this
program, please contact the Mayor’s Office at 978-534-7500.
Note:
We are
NOT taking any more
reservations for Spring 2008 planting.
Please check back in
early Fall. Thank you. |
