About us

All weighing and measuring devices used for buying, selling or exchange of any commodity must be tested and approved as accurate by the local inspector before being placed into service.
These devices must then be inspected annually to ensure they remain accurate and are in compliance with the Massachusetts General laws.

Devices Include:

Small, Medium and Heavy Capacity Scales
Gasoline Meters
Vehicle Tank Meters (Oil Trucks)

Propane Meters
Balances and Weights
Fabric Measuring Devices
Linear Devices
Bulk Storage Meters
Bottle Return Machines
Pricing Scanners (Biennial Cycle)

Random inspections are periodically conducted on devices, packaged goods, pricing Heating oil deliveries and motor fuel octane. Consumer complaints are taken seriously and are investigated.

Ensuring “Equity in the marketplace” by protecting the consumer and merchant for the common good.
