Leominster is host to the Intermodal Transportation Center which is located on the MBTA commuter line in North Leominster on Route 13 and within one mile of intersection between Route 2 and Interstate 190. Offering 350 parking spaces, 13 daily times for commuter inbound/outbound trains, and 7 inbound/outbound trains matching schedules with local MART public busing provides workforce support for employers and residents. Leominster is within 46 miles of Logan International Airport in Boston. We are 72 miles from T.F. Green Airport in Providence RI and 42 miles from Manchester Airport in NH. In addition to these three popular air routes, the abutting community of Fitchburg has a small local airport for private passenger planes as well.

Gateway Community Status

Being a Gateway Community, the City of Leominster actively participates with the State of MA to utilize the EDIP (Economic Development Incentive Program) in providing local and state tax abatements.
