About Us
The Leominster Weights and Measures Department, under Massachusetts General Laws and City of Leominster Ordinance will ensure fairness in the marketplace by providing annual device inspection services, a random inspection program, complaint resolution and public awareness for Leominster residents, business managers, and the general public.
All weighing and measuring devices used for buying, selling or exchange of any commodity must be tested and approved as accurate by the local inspector before being placed into service. These devices must then be inspected annually to ensure they remain accurate and are in compliance with the Massachusetts General laws.

Random inspections are periodically conducted on devices, packaged goods, pricing, heating oil deliveries and motor fuel octane. Consumer complaints are taken seriously and are investigated.
