Three years ago the state was asked for $250,000 to fix some sidewalks near Frances Drake Elementary School. After a site walk, MassDOT liked the project so much that they have expanded the project to include sidewalks on both sides of the street for almost the entire length of Viscoloid Avenue, pedestrian improvements, and traffic light upgrades. Work is currently underway and will increase once school is out. This is one of the largest projects the city has undertaken to improve safety around a school. Great job by all!
